Home Depot and Lowe's

Appropriately titled since I made a total of three trips to the above locations in three days.

The project: Paint the media room
Timeline: One weekend
Budget: Parameters given were that I couldn't hire a professional to do it

I thought this would be a pretty easy project considering the walls were already painted and I was just tackling the ceiling. What I learned instead…

1. Painting a ceiling sucks – lessen the suck factor with alcohol
2. Buying two quarts of paint is the price equivalent of a gallon (learned AFTER the Lowe's guy recommended buying two quarts)
3. Never buy anything from Lowe's (hence the subsequent trip to Home Depot)
4. No matter how responsible you think you are with a paintbrush you aren't – change your clothes
5. Good taping pays off later
6. Projects will undoubtedly take longer than you think - clear your schedule
7. Listening to a Jersey Shore marathon while painting will make you dream of Jersey Shore cast members painting later - in this dream episode Ron and Sammie broke up after a girl painted next to Ron
