Well I failed at my first attempt at blogging. I did one post made plans to do a second and promptly forgot my password and dropped the idea altogether.
I also attempted to write a journal about our first year of marriage... I have to say that I don't consider it a failure... Because if you never finish the first entry then it was never a project to start with.
So here's my third attempt... Let's hope it goes better than my P90X efforts...
I thought it appropriate to write about one of the most life changing moments of my life - the day I married my best friend.
For the majority of the day I was pretty calm - started off with breakfast with my bridesmaids followed by hair appointments at a nearby salon and then make-up done at the hotel we stayed at. About 3 in the afternoon I started watching the clock every ten minutes and by 4:30 I was ready to go!
The time at the venue went by really fast except for when I was stuck waiting in the wine shop waiting to walk down the aisle to Justin! I found ways to entertain myself...
My dad and I didn't say much to each other before it was our turn to go down the aisle. I'm not sure if it was because we were both ready or just trying not to freak out.
When the doors to the hall opened and I saw Justin standing there I knew I sighed a little - I had been waiting to see or just even talk to him all day and now it was time.
When when I finally got to him and after my dad said "her mother and I" (to who gives this woman away) I could see Justin's eyes well up a little (no tears though - darn!!). His hands were really sweaty though so I could tell he was nervous. He whispered that I looked amazing and then it started...
The rest of the night was a bit of a blur. I feel like time went by so fast! We didn't even get a chance to see every table but I wouldn't have changed anything for the world. I knew I had just committed to spending the rest of my life with my best friend and that's all I wanted.
We left in style - a vintage car - and I think both had a little shock of "what just happened??". For the night we stayed in the presidential suite at the omni - and in typical style of our relationship drank champagne and watched the highlights on espn... That was the moment I was reminded how lucky I was.
And then the rest of the story can begin...
